TimeTools has a range of LED digital wall clock systems and time display systems that use NTP over ethernet to provide an accurate continuously synchronised display of time.

The ethernet networked NTP synchronised time displays are available as four inch high numerals with four or six digits. The large LED digital wall clock utilise NTP (Network Time Protocol) over an IP ethernet network to provide a highly accurate synchronised time display.

The Ethernet NTP digital wall clock operates with any of NTP or SNTP time resource including TimeTools NTP server products. The unit can also utilise internet based time sources, such as NIST. For simplicity of operation, the units are Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices (IEEE 802.af) using the same network components as IP telephones. If required single or multi-port PoE injectors can be provided at a very reasonable cost.

Freeware NTP Digital Wall Clock Software for Windows

TimeTools digital wall clock ntp time synchronisation software is a freeware application that runs on any Windows platform. It allows a windows SNTP time client to synchronise time to a selected Atomic Clock synchronised NTP time server. It provides a large LED style digital wall clock type display on the PC's screen.

The digital wall clock software periodically polls the specified SNTP or ntp server at intervals specified in the configuration menu and optionally synchronise's time to the ntp time server.

Digital Wall Clock Software and Windows Time Synchronisation Service.

TimeTools digital wall clock ntp synchronisation software and the Windows Time Synchronisation service ('Windows Time') cannot co-exist on the same system, since they both attempt to use UDP port 123 (NTP). You can disable the Windows Time service from the service manager to avoid this problem and rely on the digital wall clock software to synchronise system time.

Operation with Windows XP SP2 Firewall

To operate digital clock on Windows XP SP2 or later, you must open the NTP port (Port 123) in the Windows XP firewall. From the Firewall Control Panel add UDP port 123 in the exceptions tab.

To Do:

18 January 2007 : Add functionality to restrict time updates to within a 15 minute window of the current system time. This could be used as a 'safety net', incase any erroneous NTP servers provide incorrect un-synchronised time information. This could be added as a checkbox to enabled or disable time checks.
