SNTP Server

A SNTP server stands for Simple Network Time Protocol. SNTP uses the same protocol as NTP but lacks some of the sophisticated algorithms for filtering reference clocks and maintaining an accurate time.

All TimeTools NTP time server devices also operate as an SNTP server. Since the protocols are identical, any SNTP client can synchronise to an NTP server. Also, ant NTP client can synchronize to an SNTP server. For computer network timing NTP servers offer a more stable time base.

SNTP servers utilse the SNTP protocol to synchronise time on network systems are computer based timing references for providing accurate time to servers, workstations, routers, time clocks and other network products. SNTP, or Simple Network Time Protocol, is a simplified sub-set of the linux based Network Time Protocol (NTP) daemon. The NTP and SNTP protocols are completely interchangeable.
