TimeTools GPS Network Time Server products utilise the GPS Global Positioning System to provide an accurate source of time to computer networks. The devices maintain an accurate internal time reference locked to highly accurate atomic clocks on board each satellite. The precise timing information is then provided to network time clients for system time synchronisation. In this way a network of many thousands of computers can all be synchronised to the same precise time.
Using the standard network time protocol (NTP) or simple network time protocol (SNTP) any client computer on a network has access to precise time in order to synchronise its internal system clock. The system time is utilised by many applications for time-stamping purposes. Many time critical applications, such as transaction processing, event management and logging systems, need a precise time reference to maintain correct operation.
Most operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux, UNIX and many network devices such as Cisco routers utilise NTP for time synchronisation. Generally, they do not require any additional software to be installed. Configuration often only involves pointing any client to the IP address of the time reference.

TimeTools SR series can operate anywhere in the world, provided it's antenna can be shown a good view of the sky. It is not restricted by the regional boundaries of radio time references.
TimeTools has a comprehensive range of computer and network time synchronisation solutions utilising GPS and radio technologies. Solutions range from RS232 serial and USB devices that synchronise time on a single PC to dedicated network time servers that can provide accurate time to thousands of network time clients. We also provide a comprehensive range of ethernet network, NTP synchronised, digital and analog wall clocks that continuously display accurate synchronised time.
