TimeTools is a manufacturer and distributor of UK Time Server systems. Based in Dudley, West Midlands, TimeTools has a comprehensive range of computer network time synchronisation solutions.
Our equipment utilises MSF \ DCF-77 radio or GPS time references to provide an accurate time reference for computers, network infrastructure and DVR \ CCTV systems. The UK has 2 main sources of broadcast time - the MSF radio time and frequency broadcast and the GPS system.
The MSF radio signal was broadcast from Rugby, East Midlands, however, in April 2007 the transmitter was moved to Anthorne, Cumbria. In theory, the signal should be able to be received throughout the UK and the British Isles. However, since the move to Anthorne, we have noticed many areas, particularly in the South of England and South Wales has suffered from reduced signal strength. Radio signal can often be received indoors with an antenna close to the host computer, thus reducing installation costs. However, nearby metal structures or locating the antenna in a basement may well cause problems.
GPS has the advantage of being able to be received anywhere in the world. It is a satellite based system that is not restricted by national boundaries or by a finite transmission range. Provided a GPS antenna is provided with a good view of the sky, a consistent signal lock is almost guaranteed. Additionally, TimeTools GPS receivers utilise high-sensativity, over-determined clock technology which allow operation in extremely challenging antenna locations.

TimeTools has a comprehensive range of computer and network time synchronisation solutions utilising GPS and radio technologies. Solutions range from RS232 serial and USB devices that synchronise time on a single PC to dedicated network time servers that can provide accurate time to thousands of network time clients. We also provide a comprehensive range of ethernet network, NTP synchronised, digital and analog wall clocks that continuously display accurate synchronised time.
- High Precision GPS and LF radio (MSF and DCF-77) time references.
- RS232 and USB time synchronisation devices for accurate PC time.
- Dedicated network time servers to accurately synchronise thousands of clients using the Network Time Protocol (NTP).
- Precise timing for all operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux and Unix.
- Synchronise network infrastructure such as Cisco routers, hubs, switches, CCTV cameras, DVR's and telephone systems.
