Novell directory services require accurate time so that time critical network operations can be carried out accurately.
Novell has built NTP into its latest releases of Netware. From version 5 onwards NTP is a standard feature of the operating system. This means that a Novell server can synchronise time to a NTP network time resource available on a network. NTP is available only over TCP/IP. Therefore, TCP/IP networking must be installed on the Netware server.
Netware can synchronise to TimeTools range of dedicated NTP time servers or NTP server software for Windows NT/2000/XP and Server 2003.
